The Twisted Roots Pose is a deep, restorative yoga posture that helps to release tension in the spine, stretch the hips, and improve flexibility. It is a great pose for spinal mobility and relaxation.

How to Perform Twisted Roots Pose:

  • Starting Position: Lie on your back with your arms extended out in a T-shape.
  • Cross Legs: Cross your right leg over your left thigh, as if sitting cross-legged.
  • Twist: Gently drop your knees to the left side, keeping your shoulders grounded. Look to the right for a deeper twist.
  • Hold: Breathe deeply and hold the pose for 5-10 breaths before switching sides.

Dos:

  • Keep both shoulders grounded during the twist.
  • Breathe deeply to deepen the stretch gradually.
  • Use a pillow or bolster under your knees if needed for support.

Don'ts:

  • Avoid forcing the twist; let it happen naturally.
  • Don’t lift your shoulders off the ground.
  • If you feel pain, stop and return to a neutral position.
